John Deere University
John Deere University is a virtual learning campus which promotes continuous learning aligned with the strategic direction of the business. We continue to develop colleges for major functions such as supply management, marketing, sales & customer support and operations. Two additional colleges focus on the competencies and leadership skills that are important for all employees. Each learning path can help you identify activities focused on personal and job-specific development needs.
Get to know yourself better. Your interests. Your skills. Your true potential. Our self-assessment tools can help you gain insight into your interests and goals. Then you can apply these insights to your career and development planning.
Self-assessment tools include a 360-degree tool and a behavioural/style assessment, as well as values and interests checklists. In addition, our intranet offers dozens of links for career development, including interviewing tips and how-to guides.
Every employee can choose a personal mentor. The aim of mentoring is to develop the skills and competencies of an individual person or group through the mentor's personal experience. Our John Deere mentoring platform enables employees to search for and find mentors using particular keywords. Mentoring can help you to overcome personal obstacles, benefit from a colleague's experiences, build networks and relationships and learn from other functional areas.
Employee satisfaction is an important element of our corporate culture. With the use of our tool “Internal Resume”, employees are able to publish their resume on our system and present their professional and personal goals as well as their abilities and competencies. Hiring managers or human resources personnel can search and review your resume when they are looking for individuals who match the qualifications for a specific position. In addition to this, employees can also use their resumes to apply for current open positions. Through this interactive system, everyone has an equal opportunity to develop their career.

John Deere places a high value on diversity. No matter who you are — what race, what religion, what gender, age or disability — you are welcomed at John Deere. In accordance with our core values - Innovation, Quality, Integrity and Engagement -we have high economic and moral standards and it goes without saying that we have an entrepreneurial responsibility. As a successful international company, intercultural tolerance and gender mainstreaming are essential factors that contribute to our interaction with each other. We are building an employee team in which the value of diversity and an inclusive work environment is well understood and fully embraced.
Compensation and Benefits
Our total compensation philosophy is to pay for performance. This philosophy is used throughout the company to reward employees in alignment with company and individual performance. Your individual performance impacts your base pay, while variable pay depends on company performance. Our goal is to be competitive in each respective market. When maximum variable pay goals are achieved, total compensation is paid at the top of the market. Additional financial and non-financial benefits also make John Deere an employer of choice.
CARMEN LAUN, ASSOCIATE CHIEF COUNSEL
When I started my new position in Luxembourg I worked for a manager who was very strong in finding solutions for any type of issues coming her way. She never gave up until she found at least one good solution. The analytical skills, creativity and persistence were very inspiring to me.
